MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — There will be increased security at Martin County High School on Friday after a perceived threat was found carved into a bathroom stall last week, officials say.

The threat reads "1-25-19" and has a picture of a gun next to it.

The sheriff's office plans to have an increased presence at the school Friday.

Below is a statement from Martin County schools regarding the incident:

"The matter has been thoroughly investigated by MCSO and there is no cause for concern. We’ll have an increased presence of deputies on campus today to ease concerns, but law enforcement has continued to advise that students, employees and the school are safe."

The school has asked parents with questions to contact them. They said an administrator or the school resource officer will be happy to address their concerns. The Martin County School District number is (772) 219-1200.

Martin County High School is already hosting a district-wide event on campus Friday and will have an additional presence of law enforcement officers.
