MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — A Port St. Lucie woman on a motorcycle was killed and four others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Martin County Tuesday evening.

The deadly wreck involved a small truck, two motorcycles and a car happened on the 2000 block of Citrus Blvd. near SW Boatramp Avenue around 6:50 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the two motorcycles and a 2000 Ford Ranger were traveling westbound on SW Citrus Boulevard.

A third vehicle, a 2018 Nissan Maxima, was traveling eastbound on Citrus Boulevard.

In the area of the crash, SW Citrus Boulevard is a two-lane road divided by double-yellow painted lines to indicate a no passing zone.

FHP said both motorcycles were riding side-by-side and both attempted to pass another vehicle traveling westbound.

Both of the motorcycles entered the eastbound lane, directly into the path of the Nissan Maxima. A collision occurred between the front of the motorcycle driven by Theresa Lindenfelser, 55, of Port St. Lucie, and the front of the Maxima.

The Maxima also hit the front of the other motorcycle. The driver of Ford Ranger was able to swerve to the right, off the road and onto the shoulder but overturned.

Lindenfelser was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second motorcycle sustained critical injuries. The crash reports says neither motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Maxima suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Ranger and a passenger in the truck both sustained minor injuries.
