An elementary school student was hospitalized Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck the bicycle he was riding, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said it happened just after 7 a.m. on Indian Street.
It was dark and raining as the child attempted to cross the road, the sheriff's office said.
The driver stopped and was not cited for the collision but was arrested for driving without a license, the sheriff's office stated.
Officials said the child suffered non-life threatening injuries.
