7-year-old Star Wars superfan gets George Lucas to change marriage law for Jedi Knights

Jedi Knights now have the legal right to get married, under the Imperial Ruling Council of the Galactic Republic.

Actually, all it took was a letter to George Lucas.

"My son wrote to LucasFilm about how he wanted to get married but still retain his Jedi status without becoming a Sith," Peggy Gilpatric posted on YouTube

son, 7-year-old Colin, was stunned by the response to his letter.

"It says that the Force is strong with me!" Colin exclaims as he starts reading the letter.

His mother continues reading the letter out loud.

"You are showing great wisdom by asking your question. To be a Jedi is to truly know the value of friendship, of compassion and of loyalty, and these values are important in a marriage," she reads.

"I can get married?! No way! George Lucas is so nice!" Colin squeals.

The package also contained several books and movie souvenirs.

I think we can assume "This will be a day long remembered."

Watch Colin's reaction below.
