A father was arrested after police say his 10-year-old son became ill from eating medical marijuana candy.
It happened Sunday in the town of Ramapo, New York.
Police said they were called to a hospital emergency room where they were told the child had eaten sour gummy candy containing 250 mg of THC.
Police arrested the child's father and charged him with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said there is no evidence that either the father or child had a prescription for the candy.
"The father indicates that he lent his car to a friend and the friend left the candy in the car," a police spokesman said.
The child was later treated and released from the hospital.
