HOUSTON — A hospital in Texas says a woman gave birth to sextuplets in the span of only nine minutes on Friday.
The Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston said in a Facebook post that the odds of giving birth to sextuplets is estimated to be one in 4.7 billion!
A team of three doctors helped the mom, Thelma Chiaka, give birth to two sets of twin boys and one set of twin girls.
The six births happened between 4:50 a.m. and 4:59 a.m.
The babies were born at weights ranging from 1 pound, 12 ounces to 2 pounds, 14 ounces.
The hospital said all of the babies are in stable condition and will continue to receive care in the hospital’s advanced neonatal intensive care unit.
Two of girls have been named Zina and Zuriel. The hospital did not say if the boys have been named.
