Snake surprises sushi lovers

Posted

(KNBC, NBC NEWSCHANNEL) Sushi lovers got an unexpected reptilian surprise at a California sushi restaurant on Sunday.

The whole incident started when the man brought a small snake into Iroha Sushi of Tokyo in Studio City.

When customers complained and employees asked him to take the snake outside, the man returned with a 13-foot Burmese python and dropped it on the restaurant floor.

Employees called 9-1-1 but by the time police and the fire department arrived, the snake had gotten itself stuck behind one of the computers.

Firefighters were eventually able to wrangle the python out of its hiding spot.

The snake was taken by animal control.

Its owner was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats
