NOAA uploaded time-lapse video recorded on Monday of the hunters' flight into the storm.
Video shows them flying a WP-3D Orion plane into heavy rain and wind but also the calm, sunny skies once they reach the eye.
The video has been viewed more than 140,000 times and shared more than 2,400 times in about 19 hours.
Florence is expected to come ashore late Thursday or early Friday, bringing a deluge of rain, life-threatening storm surge and catastrophic winds.
