A gunman shot a doctor and then killed himself at a VA clinic near the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, The El Paso Times reports. The hospital serves Fort Bliss.
"Everything is under control and there is no immediate threat for Fort Bliss or the local community," said Major General Stephen Twitty at a Tuesday press conference.
Officials did not answer any questions. The identity of the shooter and the deceased were not named and no motive was disclosed. The FBI will lead an investigation with support from the U.S. Army.
