Amazon will get the chance to test unmanned aircraft.

The Federal Aviation Administration announced Thursday the company will get an experimental airworthiness certificate

Amazon officials have discussed using drones to deliver packages. With the certificate, the company will be allowed to fly unmanned aircraft during daylight hours so long as the drones do not fly above 400 feet and so long as there are good meteorological conditions, according to a statement from the FAA.

Amazon must also have people with private pilot's certificates to fly the drones, and those pilots must have a visual line-of-sight.

Amazon must provide monthly data, according to the FAA.
