CHICAGO — It was a scary and wild ride for passengers on an American Airlines flight that landed in snowy Chicago Monday morning.
Data on FlightAware.com, shows the flight took off from Greensboro, North Carolina, at 6:16 a.m. EST and landed at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport at 7:17 CST a.m.
However, video recorded by a passenger inside the plane shows the landing was anything but smooth.
The video was later tweeted by a reporter from the ABC affiliate in Raleigh, which shows the aircraft take a hard left and then go off the runway.
The NBC affiliate in Chicago reported that fire officials said the incident happened quickly and was "immediately secured."
"The incident had a moderate impact in overall flight operations at the airport," the Chicago Department of Aviation said in a statement.
None of the 38 passengers and three crew members aboard the Envoy flight, formerly knows as American Eagle, were hurt.
The city's aviation department says more than 440 flights in and out of the airport have been canceled Monday.
