Actor Ashton Kutcher took to Facebook Tuesday because he couldn’t find a baby changing table for his daughter. He offered free press to the first restaurant with a changing station in the men’s room:
The post had more than 200,000 likes on Facebook. Thousands of men and women complained they also have no place to change their kids' diaper. Many men are forced to use the ladies room.
In California, the issue was almost addressed. In 2014, a bill to require changing stations in men’s restrooms passed in the California legislature. However, it was vetoed by Governor Jerry Brown.
A lack of baby changing tables is a major issue for single fathers, of whom there are more than 2 million in the U.S., according to Pew Research. That's about 8 percent of households.
