Netflix drops BBC shows including 'Doctor Who' and 'Top Gear'

Say “ta ta” to the most brilliant TV shows from across the pond.

Most BBC shows will be removed from Netflix streaming at the end of January due to an expired contract.

That includes favorites like “Doctor Who,” the original “House of Cards,” “Luther,” “Red Dwarf” and “Top Gear.”

“Sherlock,” as usual, survives. The critically-acclaimed update starring Benedict Cumberbatch will stay on Netflix thanks to a separate contract through PBS.

The change affects American Netflix customers only.

It’s possible that Netflix and BBC will come to terms before the shows are pulled. But for now, the following shows are tagged for expulsion:

A Bit of Fry & Laurie

All Creatures Great and Small

Black Adder

Canterbury's Law

Copper

Coupling

Doctor Who

Fawlty Towers

House of Cards

Hyperdrive

Little Britain

Luther

Michael Palin Travelogues

MI-5

North & South

Primeval

Red Dwarf

Survivors

Top Gear

Torchwood

Wallander

Netflix declined to comment on contract negotiations with BBC.
