Report of shootings at Lil Wayne's home a hoax

Police have responded to rapper Lil Wayne's home in Florida following reports of 4 people shot.

A Miami Beach spokeswoman said someone called the non-emergency number to say that four people were shot inside the home.

The Miami Beach home is located on La Gorce Circle. Lil Wayne is reportedly in Miami but not at the home at this time. Posts on social media by Wayne's record label, Young Money Entertainment, and his official Facebook page confirmed that the rapper is not at the residence and is safe.

According to TMZ, police believe this might be a case of "swatting" ... where someone places a prank emergency call in order to prompt a full force response from cops.

A Miami television reporter on the scene stated that although police have established a perimeter, they "don't appear to be too worried."
