A New Mexico World War Two veteran who turned the big 100 had a grand celebration recently.

Ralph Wendorf's friends, neighbors, Sheriff's deputies and fire crews all threw a birthday bash for him.

People held up signs wishing Ralph a happy birthday, took pictures of him and hoisted up American flags to honor the war veteran.

Wendorf even got a special honor from the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department with an honorary deputy commissioning that came with a badge and certificate.

Ralph says he was "awestruck" by the massive celebration in his honor.
