If you are a parent, this may have happened to you. However, it probably didn't involve the police.

A Northern California man named Ben Patterson was driving his children home after he and his wife switched cars when he son vomited inside the vehicle.

Patterson pulled over in Burlingame. He then snapped a pic of his son and texted it to his wife, explaining he was trying not to throw up himself.

But apparently he did. And a women who saw him puking in her yard thought he was drunk.

Although he tried explaining to the woman that he is a "sympathetic vomiter," she apparently didn't believe him and called the police.

Patterson continues to text his wife, who had gone out for a night on the town with her friends, and was not responding.

The cops soon arrived and Patterson had to take a breathalyzer.

At that point, he texted his wife: "YOU OWE ME SO BIG."

Patterson passed and was soon on his way.

The father posted pics of the text messages on his Facebook on May 13. As of Monday afternoon, the post has been shared more than 130,000 times and has received almost 300 comments.
