From Pawnee, Indiana to Indiana Jones.

Actor Chris Pratt might play the legendary whip-wielding archeologist in a Disney reboot of the "Indiana Jones" franchise, according to a report.

According to Deadline, the possible project is in the very early stages of development but Disney has considered reviving the popular series after buying the rights from Paramount in 2013.

Pratt showed his comedic chops in the NBC series "Parks and Recreation" and his ability to lead an action film in 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy." That movie, produced by Disney, was the second-highest grossing film of the year in the United States, making over $333 million at the box office.

A project with the working title "Indiana Jones 5" appears on IMDB with original franchise star Harrison Ford attached to reprise his role. The project's page was last updated on Nov. 24, 2014. The most recent film of the franchise, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was released in 2008, starring Ford.
