Disturbance in Gulf may strike two states

An unorganized disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico could bring some strong winds to the Texas Gulf Coast today.

According to Storm Shield Meteorologist Jason Meyers, "there's a good chance it'll become a weak tropical storm before reaching the coast" on Tuesday.

There is lots of heavy rain headed to the coastal areas, including Texas and Louisiana. Coastal flood advisories are in place.

Weather alerts for those in the affected areas are available from the Radar Cast app, which automatically augments land-based radar images with latest images from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's satellites. Users may track upcoming hurricanes and storms all from the same map.
