SAN DIEGO - San Diego-based KGTV captured dramatic footage of the end of a police pursuit involving three men who crashed a car and fled on foot Thursday afternoon.

The chase began after police initiated a simple stop for a vehicle violation.

But the driver took off and the three people inside the white four-door sedan crashed into a barrier after they flew off the road.

After slamming to a stop, the three gave chase on foot, two ran one direction and another fled down a hill.

Two San Diego Police Department officers weren't far behind and pursued the suspects until they exhausted and gave up.

KGTV photojournalist Ginny Creighton gave viewers a sneak peek at what appeared to be a revolver inside the abandoned car.

Police confirmed there were three guns recovered as a result of this incident. Two guns were thrown out and one was found in the middle console.
