Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 6-12, which urges families to plan and practice what to do in the event of a house fire.
Remember, in a typical house fire you may only have a couple of minutes to escape once your smoke alarms sounds, that's why you and your family need a plan to stay safe.
The National Fire Protection Association recommends talking with your loved ones about escape routes, meeting places and how to call 911 in case of an emergency.
