The CEO of Delta says the government shutdown is causing a loss of $25 million a month for the airline.
Ed Bastian said the decline in revenue is due to fewer government employees and contractors flying, according to CNBC.
The government shutdown is in its 25th day and is the longest in history. It's due to Democrats in congress sparring with President Donald Trump over how much money is needed to fund a better wall at the US-Mexico border.
Bastian said Delta expects this government shutdown to make a dent in its first quarter earnings, CNBC reported.
Delta's revenue in the last three months of 2018 was more than $10 billion, and up over 2017.
During the government shutdown, an estimated 800 workers are furloughed and not receving pay.
