SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A homeless man turned a San Diego's woman's front porch into his own personal bedroom, and other community residents say it is problem that is out of control.

Erica said she woke up around 1:30 a.m. local time Tuesday to find a man sleeping right under her bedroom window.

"And the guy [is] just sleeping -- sleeping on his little bed," said Erica.

It's a problem she said she is seeing more of around Little Italy.

"It's getting out of control. When it's night, it's scary," she added.

A few weeks ago, one of Erica's neighbors spotted a homeless man camped out on her porch. That neighbor called police and officers removed him.

"I'm pretty sure he was trying to take a pillow with him because I heard the officer say, 'Put it down,'" said Erica.

Now, Erica doesn't know what to do to keep her home safe.

"It's scary. Maybe my dog isn't enough. All of the barking did not even deter the man," Erica said.

She added, "They have places they can go. My patio is not one of them. That's trespassing, that's illegal, and that's breaking the law."

Erica also has a sign in her window that says they have guns to protect themselves. She said there is going to be cameras and motion-sensor lights installed for extra security.
