The Las Vegas Conventional and Visitors Authority has approved $49 million contract for the first underground tunnel transit system in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority voted Wednesday on funding for an underground tunnel transit system designed and constructed by Elon Musk's The Boring Company. Passengers will be transported by Tesla cars that reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.
