STROUD, Okla. — A trooper for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol had a terrifying experience last week along a busy highway.
The agency tweeted video of a trooper who had stopped along the Turner Turnpike to assist a driver on July 2.
The dashcam video shows a bolt of lightning strike within a few feet of the trooper.
A caption with the highway patrol tweet said, "Woah! That was close!"
The trooper apparently escaped the close call unharmed.
Woah! That was close! Watch until the end. This lightning strike came awfully close to our trooper yesterday when he stopped to assist with some equipment that had fallen off a trailer on the Turner Turnpike between Bristol and Stroud. pic.twitter.com/kv8ROddnPt
