California is one polluted state.
According to the American Lung Association's "State of the Air 2015" report, the state has six of the Top 10 U.S. metropolitan areas most-polluted by short-term particle pollution.
The report also says Los Angeles remains the metropolitan area with the worst ozone pollution.
Nearly 44 percent of people living in the U.S. are in counties with "unhealthful levels of either ozone or particle pollution," the ALA said in the release.
