Staff members at a middle school in southwestern Pennsylvania are feeling the ire of parents this week after several students were given word puzzles based on “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

At least five eighth-graders at Westmoreland County middle school took the explicit word search puzzles home on Monday, according to Pittsburgh’s WTAE television. One parent told the station the puzzle was “filled with explicit sexual terms.”

Officials in the Monessen City School District did not reveal which teacher handed the puzzles out but said, “An investigation will occur.” WTAE reported one school board member commented that the word searches were given out by mistake.

The movie version of the popular erotic novel opens this week.
