NEW YORK — Gov. Andrew Cuomo jumped into action to help a driver on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on Monday, officials said.

He spotted the accident after he left an event with the Association for a Better New York, officials said. Police hadn't yet arrived.

Cuomo pulled over, cut the man trapped in the car out and helped him to safety.

Video shows Cuomo comforting a distraught woman at the scene.
