New York Times media columnist David Carr, died at the office Thursday, the New York Times reported.
Carr, 58, worked for The Times since 2002 and had the Media Equation column for the newspaper. His column covered media.
Carr wrote a memoir "The Night of the Gun", which became a bestseller about drug abuse.
He also had worked for The Atlantic Monthly, New York Magazine and Inside.com among other publications.
