NHL players to wear GoPro cameras during hockey games

This could make the fights even more exciting.

The National Hockey League announced a partnership with camera maker GoPro Friday to give fans a first-person view of hockey action. The rugged cameras will be worn by some players in time for the 2015 NHL All-Star Game on Jan. 25.

“Only GoPro has the technology to help us and our media partners showcase the beauty and intensity of hockey in new and deeper ways,” said Bob Chesterman, NHL Senior Vice President of Programming and Production, in a statement. “Our partnership with GoPro will be a big win for both new and lifelong hockey fans.”

The NHL said it is the first major professional sports league to feature the cameras.
