(KGW/NBC) - A jury awarded an Oregon man $180,000 after he was kicked by an Oregon State Police officer during a 2012 traffic stop.
Justin Wilkens says he was riding his motorcycle in August 2012 when Capt. Rob Edwards knocked him off his bike at a traffic light.
Wilkens said Edwards then kicked him and broke his collarbone.
Edwards testified his force was "in line" with state police policies.
Wilkens sued Edwards for civil rights violations, non-economical damages and reimbursement for medical bills and motorcycle repairs.
