They don’t call it Fat Tuesday for nothing.
It’s no coincidence that three food-related holidays will be celebrated alongside Mardi Gras this Tuesday. So what’s on the menu?
Feb. 9 marks National Paczki Day. For those who aren’t Polish, a paczki is doughnut-like pastry usually filled with jam or other sweet filling and topped with icing or powdered sugar. Though no one can seem to agree on how to pronounce its name, everyone can agree that they’re delicious.

Tuesday also marks National Bagel Day. To celebrate, Einstein Bros. Bagels is offering a free bagel with a schmear of cream cheese with any purchase.
Not to be outdone, a fellow breakfast food is trying to claim Tuesday as its own. #PancakeDay was trending early Tuesday on Twitter, sparking a war with bagel lovers.

For those seeking free pancakes from IHOP, the chain won’t be offering free pancakes until its own National Pancake Day on Feb. 28.
If that weren’t enough, Tuesday is also National Pizza Day — and the timing couldn’t be better, according to Matt Plappert at Cosmo’s Pizza in Denver, Colo.
““This is probably around the time resolutions start slipping up a little bit," he said.
No matter what you choose to eat on Tuesday, remember: Save room for King Cake.
