Man shoots at strangers while leading Baltimore police on high-speed chase

Baltimore Police were involved in a high-speed chase with a suspected shooter Friday afternoon. 

The unnamed suspect was caught around noon after he bailed out of his car following a lengthy high-speed chase.

Police say the chase began with a traffic stop.

According to Commissioner Kevin Davis a 30-year-old suspect used an assault rifle and handgun to shoot random people as he led police on a chase.

The chase spanned three city districts over the span of 30 minutes. During that time there were five shooting. Two people were hit, one of which is seriously injured.

An officer was injured, but police did not release his name or condition.

Baltimore Police also said the suspect is potentially involved in two other shootings. One shooting happened Thursday night when police say three people were shot, one of which was killed. The other shooting was earlier this week, but was not deadly. 

Two guns were recovered in the suspect's car.
