(WVLA, NBC NEWSCHANNEL) Politico Magazine has ranked all 50 states to find out which place has the best quality of life. Unfortunately for Louisiana, it looks like the Bayou State came in dead last.
State treasurer John Kennedy balks at the findings.
"I think this article in Politico sucks, Louisiana is not the worst state in America!" he says.
"I'm surprised," agrees Baton Rouge resident Ainsley Blue. "I haven't lived too many other places but I do enjoy living in Louisiana."
To create this list, Politico used existing rankings from the FBI, CDC, and the US Census Bureau, and averaged education, health, money, crime, unemployment and death rates.
"There are a lot of things in the Politico article that they didn't take into account, having said that, yeah, we've got problems" Kennedy admits.
