A pro-gun Florida mother, who is especially vocal about her second amendment views on social media, was accidentally shot by her 4-year-old son.

The incident occurred just one day after Jamie Gilt of Jacksonville bragged about the young boy’s shooting skills on Facebook.

“Even my 4 year old gets jacked up to target shoot with the .22,” Gilt wrote Monday during an online debate about guns and self-defense.

On top of her person Facebook page, the gun activist ran another account called “Jamie Gilt for Gun Sense” – which appears to have since been deleted.

However, on Tuesday while Gilt was driving, her child reportedly found a loaded weapon in the back of his mother’s pickup truck and shot through the driver's seat. The bullet pierced into the cushion, striking Gilt in the back.

She was hospitalized at UF Health in Gainesville and said to be in stable condition.

It wasn’t immediately clear where the gun was stored inside the vehicle. Gilt was reportedly on her way to pick up a pony at the time of the incident, in which the child was uninjured.
