Report: Bravo star who died tried to outrun train while filming for energy drink ad

A fitness instructor filming for a Bravo network television show who died when he was struck by a Los Angeles-commuter rail train had been trying to outrun it.

Entertainment news website TMZ.com reported Tuesday afternoon Greg Plitt, 37, had been trying to prove the effectiveness of an energy drink when he was struck. According to TMZ, police have video of Plitt standing on the tracks in a runners stance and bolting down the track once the train approached.

He was clipped by the train.

Plitt had been shooting an advertisement for the energy drink product, of which multiple cans were found at the scene, TMZ's report said.

According to USA Today, Plitt did not have permission to be filming on the track.
