In an emotional interview on "Good Morning America," actress Shannen Doherty revealed that she's battling stage 4 cancer for about a year.
Since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, Doherty, 48, has been public about her fight with cancer. In 2016, she announced cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, but after a single mastectomy, she announced her cancer was in remission.
But Doherty kept her most recent cancer diagnosis to herself. She worked on the Beverly Hills 90210 reboot, BH: 90210, and mourned the loss of her former cast mate, Luke Perry, when he died last year.
But on Tuesday, Doherty opened up about her most recent fight.
"I still do, I don't think I've processed it. It's a bitter pill to swallow," Doherty told GMA.
Doherty reportedly only told her family and 90210 cast mate Brian Austin Green about the diagnosis.
Her announcement also comes amid a legal battle with State Farm, whom she sued in 2018 after her California home was damaged in a 2018 wildfire. She claims she was forced to pay for repairs that she believes should have been covered by her insurance company. According to GMA, court documents show State Farm paid $1.1 million to repair her home.
