Here's a quick look ahead at the week of Oct. 18, 2015.
POLITICS
On Thursday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is expected to give testimony surrounding the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attacks in front of the House Select Committee on Benghazi. The testimony will mainly focus on Clinton's use of a private email server while she served as Secretary of State.
Clinton, a Democratic hopeful for the 2016 presidential nomination, will be testifying in front of a largely Republican committee. There has been speculation that the committee will use the hearings to bring down the Clinton campaign, but Trey Gowdy (R-SC) says otherwise in this AOL On Network video:
WEATHER
After suffering through one of the worst droughts in recent memory, parts of southern California now must dig out of piles of mud after receiving too much rain. Parts of Interstate 5 north of Los Angeles had to be closed over the weekend due to flash flooding and mudslides in the area.
The rest of the country will for the most part experience much warmer temperatures after one of the first frosts of the season over the weekend.

SPORTS
Baseball — Two of baseball's most popular — and long-suffering — franchises face off in the National League Championship Series. It's been 15 years since the Mets last reached the World Series in 2000, and it's been 70 years since the Cubs last made the World Series in 1945. New York currently holds a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series after a 4-2 win on Saturday.
On the other side of the bracket, the Royals and Blue Jays battle for the pennant for the first time since their classic seven-game battle in 1985. The Royals took that series and went on to win the World Series. Kansas City currently holds a 2-0 series lead after beating the Blue Jays 5-0 and 6-3 on Friday and Saturday.
Basketball — The NBA season kicks off on Tuesday when LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers tip off at home against the Chicago Bulls. Last season's champions, the Golden State Warriors, play the New Orleans Pelicans later in the evening.
MUSIC
Country superstar Carrie Underwood will release her newest album Storyteller on Friday. Her fifth studio album, it features singles Smoke Break, Heartbeat and Renegade Runaway.
MOVIES
Steve Jobs — A biopic on the life of the Apple co-founder stars Michael Fastbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogan and Jeff Daniels. Steve Jobs is the second Jobs biopic to be released in the last three years, following Joshua Michael Stern's Jobs in 2013.
Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension — Just in time for Halloween, this horror film stars Chris J. Murray and Brit Shaw. It is the sixth edition in the groundbreaking horror series.
Burnt — Already on a number of critics' Oscar watch-lists, Burnt stars Bradley Cooper as a fiery, bombastic chef looking to clean up his life. Sienna Miller (American Sniper, Foxcatcher) co-stars.
TV
Netflix will release the third and final season of its horror thriller series Hemlock Grove early on Friday morning. The series is produced by noted horror director Eli Roth and stars Famke Jamssen (X-Men).
