Your daily commute has nothing on this massive traffic jam in China.

Thousands of vacationers returning home were stranded on the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway outside of Beijing on Wednesday.

The traffic jam formed on the final day of the "Golden Week," a seven-day holiday which Chinese citizens often use for travel.

The Daily Mail reported the congestion was caused by a checkpoint beyond a tollbooth, which shrunk the highway from a width of 50 lanes to just 20.

Video shows drivers leaving their cars to pass the time with a stroll on the highway.
