Tempers flared and fists flew at a town hall board meeting this week in Indiana. It all stemmed from a vote concerning the town marshal position in Hymera.
Former marshal Darrick Cullison said he was wrongly fired and has legal action against the board. The board came in with plans to replace Cullison with Daryl McCullough.
The meeting quickly escalated as tempers flared.
A motion passed with a two to one vote to hire McCullough. Then more words were exchanged, which led to the fight.
It was a site one life-long resident says he's never seen.
“How does it feel to see the town so divided like this? Have you ever seen anything like this?” said asked a reporter at the scene.
“No, I haven't,” said resident Roger Thompson. “I think it got a little out of hand. I just tried to ask a simple question as to why we terminated the town marshal in October.”
Eventually the fight was broken up and police from the surrounding areas showed up. This was the last meeting for this town board. A new board takes over the first of the year.
