A new video making the rounds on Youtube shows a hockey dad losing his temper -- and what happens next is shocking.
The video, titled "Crazy hockey Dad" and uploaded on January 19, shows a man walk from the stands at York Ice Arena in York, Pennsylvania and hit a sheet of safety glass that surrounds the rink while the game is in play.
The glass shatters.
According to YDR.com, the arena is managed by the York Revolution. Revolution president Eric Menzer said, "This is another unfortunate example of the totally ridiculous obsession of some parents with youth sports."
To find out what Rachel Cunningham, who knows the dad, has to say, check out Youthletic's coverage of the story.
Cunningham knows the "crazy hockey dad" in question and fills in a few details.
It has been confirmed that the man will be required to pay for the damage and is banned from the arena.
In the story, Menzer also said it is unusual for the glass that surrounds the rink to break. Hockey players often hit, check, and push opponents into it, but that doesn't mean it hasn't ever happened.
"It's safety glass; it's doesn't crack, it crumbles," he said. Also, a body striking the glass would be an example of blunt force, dispersed across a large area. But the man struck the glass with his metal wedding ring, producing a very concentrated impact, Menzer said.
