At least three people were shot Wednesday at Indianapolis' Washington Square Mall, just east of the city's downtown.

The shooting happened just before 6:30 p.m. at the mall.

Indianapolis Police said two suspects got into a fight at the mall and shot at each other, but it was not random and at least some of the injuries involved were sustained by bystanders.

Our sister station in Indianapolis RTV6 has learned that two people were reported shot outside of a Target store at the mall, and one other was shot at a nearby Buffalo Wild Wings.

Witnesses on the scene reported seeing a shotgun or an AK-47 in the hands of a man with a ski mask, but IMPD says the weapon used was "not a long rifle."

A Target employee said she heard at least 15 shots.

Two victims were transported by ambulance to an area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The third victim's condition is also non-life threatening, but it has not been confirmed where they were transported. The victims are two males and one female, according to police.

Witnesses reportedly told police a male suspect was seen running, though no motive was given. No suspects have been arrested or identified as of yet.

One witness who was in Target described people running and screaming, saying "active shooter."

Another witness inside Target said, "One of the employees kind of directed us to a storage room and that's where several of us stayed."
