Carr Fire: 1,000 structures destroyed or damaged as wildfire rages in Redding, California
Nearly 1,000 structures have been damaged or destroyed because of Carr Fire, a wildfire burning through Redding, California that started Monday, July 23, 2018 when a vehicle suffered mechanical failure, officials said. As of July 30, at least six people were killed because of the fire. Also as of July 30, the fire was 17 percent contained. About 17 miles of the area has been evacuated. High winds and dry conditions are fueling the wildfire.
