PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Summit Boulevard has reopened after three days of road closures, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

The road had been closed since Sunday, after an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at Trump International Golf Club.

WPTV's Michael Hoffman was on the scene as red tape was taken down along Summit Blvd. between Congress Avenue and Kirk Road.

Residents in the area were frustrated by the delays the closure caused, and that businesses in the area like the library, post office, and bank were closed.

“It’s not fair," Kim Miralda told Hoffman just before the road reopened. "People have things to do. It’s a weekday and I understand the gravity of the situation, but some of these things are like very important to us citizens."

The intersection opened back up just before 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Many, like Jessica Vil say it's about time.

“[Trying] to deposit my checks was very inconvenient," said Vil. "I couldn’t do anything.”

"What’s the first thing you’re going to do when you drive down this road?" Hoffman asked her moments after the road opened.

"I'm gonna go deposit my checks," she told Hoffman.

As of Wednesday, the post office is open again.
