Two local dance teams showed off their moves during one of the most watched televised events of the year on Thursday.

Dancers from Park Vista Community High School participated in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Boca Dance Studio dancers also performed at the parade on Thursday.

The Park Vista dance team started their trip with a stop at NBC's Today show.

"We got up really early. We got up super early. We took a lot of selfies with Hoda."

The team was asked to participate in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade after competing in a national competition back in March.

"We're all really exhausted, but we know it's going to be worth it once we see all the faces and the cameras," said 11th grader Emily Glick.

"I know they're going to have so many memories for so many years to come. It's going to be so awesome," said Coach Jennifer Neiner.

The team is packing a lot into their short trip. They visited the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and the 9/11 Memorial.

"We've had practices until 11 p.m. this week and then we get up really early for practices again. It's all going to be worth it. It's going to be so much fun and I'm doing it with the girls that I love," said 11th grader Andaya Zabielski.

The team will fly home on Friday.
