The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 20-year-old man after a 13-year-old girl said she was kidnapped and raped earlier this year.
The child said the suspect, Pascual Efrain Perez-Perez, had been at her house once to purchase food.
On May 20, the victim told deputies that she left her house around 8:15 a.m. to catch the school bus.
That’s when she said Perez-Perez arrived at the bus stop in a black Toyota Corolla, came up behind her and put something over her nose before placing her inside the car.
The girl said she kicked him between the legs before she passed out. When she woke up, she said she was in his bed, lying on her back with her hands tied together. That’s when she said Perez-Perez raped her despite her biting his forearm and back.
During the attack, Perez-Perez also threatened to kill her or harm her family, according to the PBSO report.
The 13-year-old said after he left the home, she called police.
After the child underwent a medical exam, an analysis of DNA collected in the case helped deputies charge Perez-Perez on Sept. 29 with kidnapping and sexual assault.
PBSO records indicate he was booked at the jail Oct. 6.
