Chances of a traffic ticket increase Friday

Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies will be out in full force watching for drivers violating traffic regulations Friday.

The county's traffic division is conducting a "Traffic Safety Enforcement Initiative."

Deputies will be on main roads that have proven to be problem areas throughout the county. They'll be watching drivers for infractions like speeding, running red lights and not wearing a seatbelt.

PBSO said they hold these enforcement days almost monthly. Deputies said they see too many people being hurt and even killed on the road because of a disregard from traffic laws.

The sheriff's office hopes its enforcement days will help spread awareness that deputies are watching and drivers need to be alert and compliant on the road.
