ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. — A lockdown has been lifted at Crestwood Middle School in Royal Palm Beach following reports of shots fired near the school on Friday afternoon, according to the School District of Palm Beach County.
Deputies responded as a precaution to the school, which is located at 64 Sparrow Dr.
A school district spokesperson said reports of shots fired came into the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, but it appears the call was unfounded and there were no victims.
During the code red lockdown earlier in the day, no one was allowed in or out of Crestwood Middle School, and everyone had to remain where they were.
The lockdown was lifted around 4:30 p.m., a school district spokesperson said.
