PALM SPRINGS, Fla.-- On Wednesday morning, firefighters with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a commercial fire in the 2000 block of 2nd Avenue North.

The scene of the fire was Javi Auto Service.

Owner Javier Velasquez believes the fire started in the office on the property.

According to PBCFR, the cause of the fire was "accidental," and caused at least $250,000 worth of damage.

Firefighters had to trek through a cluttered lot full of cars to get to where the fire was burning.

A special operations crew was also brought in, according to District Chief Kimberly Hude, to make sure there weren't any hazardous materials that could cause future problems.

But she says there was plenty on the ground at the repair shop that helped strengthen the fire.

"You have a lot of oil and fuel and all of those things can add to the fire and the heavy exposure problems," she says.

Wade Myers witnessed the fire.

He works at Fritz Massie Fence which is located behind the auto repair shop.

"I came into the office, told everyone there was a fire. Got the cars out of the way. Tried to do everything I can to make sure everyone was safe around me," he says.

Kimberly Wright also works at the fencing company.

She said firefighters told her to get as far away from the fire as possible.

"They told us to evacuate to the back. They didn't want us by the front of our building," she says.

Surveillance video shows the smoke from the fire blowing towards the fencing company.

Firefighters were able to put out the flames before it spread any farther.

2 people suffered smoke inhalation.
