Friday's severe weather had an impact on opening day of the South Florida Fair.
The rides shut down for nearly 2 hours while the severe weather was moving through .
The storms earlier showed some people away, impacting attendance. However, once things cleared up, the fair representatives say crowd grew to about the same size it would normally be on a Friday night.
A few scattered puddles were he only evidence left of the bad weather that kicked off the opening day of the 104th South Florida Fair.
Tornado watches and warnings early Friday afternoon had rides shutting down and people taking cover.
Once the sky cleared, the fair filled with folks playing games, riding roller coasters and eating fried anything and everything.
"We have been eating since we got here," said one fair-goer. "We come here every year the first night of the fair because all of the food is fresh the oil is fresh and we try everything."
Sunday the area could see some more bad storms, but the fair representatives say there is plenty to do undercover.
