PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission identified an employee killed Tuesday in a boating crash in a canal near West Palm Beach.
The victim, FWC Fisheries Biologist Dana Katz, 29, of Hypoluxo, Florida, died in the crash that also injured two other civilian employees.
Spokeswoman Carol Lyn Parrish said Wednesday the two injured FWC staff members, who were also aboard the boat, remain hospitalized in stable condition.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the FWC workers were traveling east on the C-51 when their vessel collided with a concrete piling underneath the Congress Avenue eastbound ramp to Southern Boulevard.
"Our thoughts are with Dana’s family and loved ones during this difficult time," Parrish said.
The PBSO Marine Unit is investigating the crash.
